SEACANVAS,
Egg Harbor Township, NJ

DESIGNER: Carl Pellegrini, SeaCanvas
FABRICATOR: Carl Pellegrini, SeaCanvas
PROJECT MANAGER: Carl Pellegrini, SeaCanvas
INSTALLER: Carl Pellegrini, SeaCanvas
MATERIALS USED: Sunbrella Supreme, .040 Crystal Clear, Tenara thread, 316 stainless steel tube in 1" and 1 1/4"

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Design dodger and bimini for a bluewater sailboat. Traditional dodger design, highest quality stainless steel tubing. A three frame 1 1/4" stainless steel bimini frame and two frame 1" stainless steel dodger frame. Purpose is to provide protection from everyday elements including bluewater on deck. Client request include strong frame design and easy care fabric.
BENNETT CUSTOM CANVAS
Etobicoke, ON

DESIGNER: Mike Bennett
FABRICATORS: Mike Bennett and Michaela Bruton
PROJECT MANAGER: Mike Bennett
INSTALLERS: Mike Bennett and Michaela Bruton
MATERIALS USED: Sunbrella fabric, Sunguard Bonded Poly thread, YKK #10 Zips, Stayput Fasteners and 30ga smoke tinted vinyl windows, 7/8” SS tubing, all other materials supplied by George N. Jackson Ltd.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Our client came to us with a request to build an enclosure to shelter his family for their trips back and forth to Toronto Island, but being a young urban professional, he wanted something that looked "cool". From the tinted windows, to the organic frame design, to the compelling color combination of red and black, this thing screams "cool". I mounted two new sets of oar lock pads to the innertubes to act as the pivots for the two piece roof. The forward section of the roof is removable to leave a free-standing four piece bimini over the steering consol. A window was installed in the forward section of the roof to promote visibility while standing at the helm. To allow greater accessability at the midship entry points, I arched the legs of the frames forward and aft. In fact, all of the legs of the frames and the bracing are arched for function and aesthetics. The most difficult hurdle with this project was securing the enclosure panels to the inflatable tubes. I accomplished this with a combination of stay-put fasteners that hook to the existing rub-rail as well as some strategically placed mushroom caps glued to the tubes. Finally, I finished off the roof and all panels and with black trim to complement the colors of the boat. I have never seen any inflatable with such a design on it. "I LOVED doing this project because the client gave me total artistic license on it and I am very proud of the design of the framework. It was a concept of mine to make it very organic with lots of bends and curves. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but when it did, I was thrilled and I have continued to incorporate this signature into many of my projects since."

SEAFARER CANVAS
Norwalk, CT

DESIGNER: Seafarer Canvas, Bill Ashley
FABRICATORS: Seafarer Canvas, Manuel Guaman and Dolly Sanchez
PROJECT MANAGER: Seafarer Canvas, Bill Ashley
INSTALLER: Seafarer Canvas, Jeff South
MATERIALS USED: Albany Foam

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is the complete reconstruction and reupholstery of all the exterior cushions on a 39' Searay. The original cushions had been torn apart by racoons and the damage was so extensive that it was impossible to repair or reconstruct the cushions using the originals. We had to get the templates sent from Searay and had to make all the cushions from scratch. We were able to give the customer an almost exact replica of the original Searay cushions.

SEAFARER CANVAS
, Norwalk, CT

DESIGNER: Bill Ashley, Seafarer Canvas FABRICATOR: Manuel Guaman, Seafarer Canvas
PROJECT MANAGER: Bill Ashley, Seafarer Canvas
INSTALLER: Jeff South, Seafarer Canvas
MATERIALS USED: Strataglass, Textalene screening, Sunbrella

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is a full enclosure on a 25' Chris Craft. The purpose of this project was to give the client a more contemporary look. While updating the look was a goal, the main purpose of the project was to extend the client's boating season. This was accomplished by adding camper back where there had previously been an aft curtain. The only complex part of the project dealt with creating an entirely new framework. The two 7/8” stainless steel frameworks had to be lined up perfectly in order to create a fully seamless enclosure.

SEAFARER CANVAS

FABRICATOR: Manuel Guaman, Seafarer Canvas
PROJECT MANAGER: Bill Ashley, Seafarer Canvas
INSTALLER: Manuel Guaman, Seafarer Canvas
MATERIALS USED: 7/8” stainless steel, Sunbrella, Strataglass

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this project was to give the client's boat an updated look. We were updating the look by replacing all his frames and adding a camper where there had previously been an aft curtain. The camper back was added to provide the client with an extended boating season and add value to his boat. The complexity in this project was matching of the front and back frame to create a smooth transition in the tops. The large back panel had to curve back in, under the cushions while remaining completely smooth.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: One of many Beneteaus we have outfitted this year. This project was designed to maximize cockpit space and visibility while at the same time complementing this yachts' low and rounded lines. The client wanted a full outfitting that complemented the aesthetics of his new Beneteau with optimal space and visibility. He wanted to get away from the traditionally smaller dodgers that make for an awkward transition to the larger bimini. Because of the arge beam, I constructed the bimini frame with 1 1/4" stainless steel tube and fittings for added strength and rigidity.

The awning measured 35’ x 22’ and has to be easily deployed by two crew. The sailcover has integral lazy jacks and a multiude of features. The bimini had to be sleek to complement the lines of the boat.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project included a skin top that needed to “appear” as a hardtop. The enclosure has seven panels (three with vents installed at the top). It also has five aft drop panels. The customer wanted a tight clean look. The front and sides needed to be free of fasteners so we installed track for that “seamless look”. The front and sides were designed with track to track application. The rear drop required a custom fit around the tower supports. The rear drop was secured with fasteners. The enclosure came together nicely.

COSTA MARINE CANVAS & ENCLOSURES
, Egg Harbor City, NJ

DESIGNER: Chris Costa, Costa Marine Canvas
FABRICATORS: Chris Costa and Kevin Jelinski, Costa Marine Canvas

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Customer wanted a rigid enclosure for flybridge on a 82’ Viking. Front center panel would need to open and air vents installed at top of front panels. Border widths and seam placements were important. The size of the enclosure required special handling and added time. We decided to break into five panels to minimize vertical zipper lines. The front center panel was enlarged to match the size of the windshield. We have four vertical zipper lines plus small border on aft edge of sides. As top border fades into corner we narrowed the border to provide a cleaner look.
